The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is sponsoring the 15th Annual National Student Design Expo (NSDE) featuring EPA’s People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Program. A total of 21 undergraduate and graduate teams are gathering on June 17-19 at the Tech Connect World Innovation Conference and Expo to showcase their innovative designs and solutions to real-world environment and public health challenges. This year’s teams are testing ideas such as developing a sensor that can determine low levels of lead at terminal plumbing sources, investigating mechanisms for Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in water, and creating technology to reduce indoor/outdoor air pollutants.

The showcasing teams are current P3 Phase I grant recipients that were selected earlier in the academic year to receive up to $15,000 to develop their ideas and projects and present at NSDE. As Phase I grantees, the teams are now eligible to compete for a Phase II grant and receive up to $100,000 to further develop their designs and potentially implement their research in the field of real-world environments.

Join us at the expo and view the exciting new ideas and designs for innovation from this year’s P3 teams. Learn more about the P3 expo at TechConnect!
