Official portrait of Grace Robiou

Grace Robiou’s career at the EPA spans over 25 years. During that time, she has led national programs on:

  • Water quality standards,
  • Drinking water and wastewater security,
  • Marine pollution,
  • Coastal and watershed management,
  • The sustainable reuse, recovery and recycling of solid wastes,
  • Risk assessments to protect farmworkers from the risks of pesticide exposure, and
  • International policy.

She brings that knowledge, along with over 20 years of management experience in EPA’s Office of Water, Office of Land and Emergency Management and Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, to the Office of Children’s Health Protection. Her office advises the EPA Administrator to ensure all EPA actions consider the unique vulnerability of children to environmental hazards.

Grace has received numerous EPA awards from all directions: from her direct reports, peers, and managers. Other federal and non-governmental partners, both domestic and international, have also recognized her work. These awards range from leadership awards to recognitions for collaborative problem solving, scientific achievement, strategic visioning, managerial excellence, and exceptional dedication.

Grace is married, has two children, is an author of two books, is a recovering classical pianist, and enjoys reading literature, exercising, and traveling. Grace holds a BS in Environmental Science from Tufts University and an MPH from The Johns Hopkins University.
