Community Revitalization, Smart Growth and Sustainable Communities

  • Community Revitalization Assistance - Resources from across EPA to help communities protect the environment, improve health, and strengthen their economies.
  • RE-Powering America’s Land - encourages renewable energy development on current and formerly contaminated lands, landfills, and mine sites when such development is aligned with the community’s vision for the site.
  • Smart Growth- covers a range of development and conservation strategies that help protect our health and natural environment and make our communities more attractive, economically stronger, and more socially diverse.
  • Sustainable Communities - is one of six national research programs within EPA’s Office of Research and Development, provides technical solutions, tools, information, and other resources in three topic areas critical to fulfilling the Agency’s mission to protect the environment and safeguard public health
    • Creating Equitable, Healthy, and Sustainable Communities: Strategies for Advancing Smart Growth, Environmental Justice, and Equitable Development – integrates smart growth, environmental justice, and equitable development approaches to design and build healthy, sustainable, and inclusive neighborhoods
