Basic Information about AMTIC

The Ambient Monitoring Technology Information Center (AMTIC) is operated by EPA's Ambient Air Monitoring Group (AAMG). AMTIC contains information and files on ambient air quality monitoring programs, details on monitoring methods, relevant documents and articles, information on air quality trends and nonattainment areas, and federal regulations related to ambient air quality monitoring.

AMTIC is centered around the exchange of ambient monitoring related information. Established in 1991 as an electronic Bulletin Board System (BBS), AMTIC has evolved with changing technology into a site on the internet. AMTIC contains information on all the Reference and Equivalent methods for the Criteria pollutants, the TO Methods and other noncriteria pollutant methodologies, Federal Regulations pertaining to ambient monitoring, ambient monitoring QA/QC related information, information on ambient monitoring related publications, ambient monitoring news, field and laboratory studies of interest, and updates on any new or developing EPA Ambient Air standards.
