Low-Priority Substances under TSCA

On February 20, 2020, EPA finalized the designation of 20 Low-Priority chemical substances under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The designation is the third and final step in prioritization — a process for reviewing chemical substances under the amended TSCA. To support a priority designation, EPA considered reasonably available information for each chemical substance under its conditions of use against the criteria specified in TSCA section 6(b)(1)(A). A final designation of “low priority” means that a risk evaluation was not warranted at the time of designation.

  • Read the Federal Register notice.
  • For each chemical substance, EPA published supporting information for the low-priority substance designation.
