Awarded Grants

This searchable and sortable table lists Diesel Emissions Reduction Act Tribal and Territory grants awarded in fiscal years from 2008 to 2021. A list of all other funded DERA program grants can be found on the DERA National Awarded Grants webpage at National DERA Awarded Grants | US EPA and the DERA State Awarded Grants webpage at State Allocations | US EPA. Final award amounts and project descriptions may change as the projects are completed. The information on this page will be updated periodically. Please note that EPA did not offer a DERA Tribal and Territory funding opportunity program during calendar year 2023. The upcoming 2024 DERA Tribal and Territory NOFO is the first funding opportunity since the FY2022 DERA Tribal and Insular Area NOFO.

2017 Tribal AK Tanana Chiefs Conference  $497,354.00 Replace seven (7) stationary generators located in the power plants of two villages; Beaver Village and Stevens Village.  This project will help with new generator replacements that will reduce diesel emissions and conserve diesel fuel. The new generators will also increase the heat pulled off the new engines and reduce fuel oil burned for heat in public building in both village communities.
2017 Tribal WA Lummi Nation – Lummi Indian Business Council   $781,909.00 Repower 11 diesel engines on 11 marine vessels with 11 new low-emission diesel engines.  The vessels are used throughout the year in fisheries targeting salmon, halibut, crab, and shrimp. 
2017 Tribal WA Tulalip Tribe of the Tulalip Reservation  $392,100.00 The Tulalip Marine Engine Repower project will repower eight (8) marine vessels with new, low-emission diesel engines.  The vessels are used for gillnet fisheries (salmonids), and dive fisheries (shellfish).
2016 Tribal AK Chalkyitsik Village Council  $212,343.00 Replace two nonroad diesel generators used for energy production with cleaner certified generators. EPA News Release
2016 Tribal AZ Gila River Indian Community  $154,000.00 Replace two pre-2007 engine model school buses with buses with 2015 or newer engines. EPA News Release
