Providing environmental education programs for the public is an important feature of the National Environmental Museum and Education Center. Many programs are available for in-person participation, and others will be recorded and made available on the NEMEC website and other social media platforms.

In person programs are available to school, community, and cultural groups Tuesday through Thursday with prior reservation at least one month in advance.

NEMEC programs are subject to change and will be listed below.

Ruckelshaus Talks

Named after the EPA’s first and fifth Administrator, William Ruckelshaus, come hear EPA alumni, many who were here during the early days of the agency, reflect upon the environmental laws and events that shaped the future of environmental protection in our nation.

Future Scientist Series

Do you know someone age 10 and up who aspires to be a scientist, an engineer, a mathematician, or is interested in pursuing a career in a technology (computer) field?

The EPA has many employees who work in these fields who would like to share their stories of how they made this career choice and are putting it to use as they work at the agency to protect public health and the environment.

Environmental Partner Panels

The EPA partners with other federal agencies, state and local governments, Tribes, communities, universities, and other organizations as we collectively work together to protect public health and the environment. In these panel presentations speakers talk about their work on various topics ranging from addressing climate change to protecting children’s health.
