Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a $162,246 settlement with The Pond Guy Inc. at 15425 Chets Way in Armada, Michigan, for allegedly selling and distributing unregistered pesticide products in violation of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.

EPA alleges that the company sold pesticide products as part of a kit not registered with EPA. EPA also alleges that The Pond Guy distributed an EPA-registered pesticide product not labeled in accordance with the product’s EPA registration.

All pesticides distributed or sold in the United States must be registered by the EPA to ensure products perform as intended, and will not harm people, non-target species, or the environment when used as directed. Pesticidal claims can only be made for products that have been registered with EPA.
