Public Notice: Federal Register – Final Permit Issuance for Offshore Oil & Gas Activities in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico (GEG460000)

The EPA Region 4 is issuing the final the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System general permit for the eastern portion of the Outer Continental Shelf of the Gulf of Mexico for discharges from new sources, existing sources, and new dischargers, in the Offshore Subcategory of the Oil and Gas Extraction Point Source Category. This permit replaces the previous permit issued on December 21, 2017, which became effective on January 20, 2018, and expired on January 19, 2023 and had been administratively continued. The general permit authorizes discharges from oil and gas facilities and supporting pipeline facilities, engaged in exploration, development, and production operations located in, and discharging to, Federal waters of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico.
