Nutrient Pollution Outreach and Education Materials

Nutrient Pollution in the News
  • Managing Nitrogen Lowers Costs and Maintains Yields by Doug Martin (courtesy of FarmWeek)
  • Missouri's endangered water resources need everyone's help - Professor Robert Pavlowsky
  • EPA Commentary: Grand Lake St. Marys, Ohio – The Case for Source Water Protection: Nutrients and Algae Blooms - Tom Davenport and Wendy Drake (pdf), courtesy of Lakeline Magazine

The goal of this site is to assist state and local agencies, watershed groups, nongovernmental organizations and others in developing effective outreach materials related to nutrient pollution. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants to enlist the help of local groups in sharing information with the media and the public about the growing threats to our nation’s water resources from nutrient pollution and ways that the public can help make a difference. Making this important environmental issue relevant to one’s community and explaining how it affects local water resources (like your local lake, river, reservoir, etc.) will be critical for success.
