Hazardous Waste Corrective Action 2030 Goals
In the early 2000s, the EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action Program established ambitious goals for achieving certain cleanup measures by the year 2020 for 3,779 priority (Baseline) facilities. The measures included:
- Human Exposures Under Control
- Migration of Contaminated Groundwater Under Control
- Remedy Construction
In 2020, EPA’s Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery sought stakeholder input to develop a high-level vision, mission, and goals for the RCRA Corrective Action Program over the next 10 years.
The goals focus on meeting remaining milestones and completing cleanups across the country. EPA is conducting planning for implementation of the new 2030 Corrective Action Vision and Goals, where EPA will closely focus on climate change and the priorities of communities with environmental justice concerns.
