2024 PM2.5 Initial Area Designations Informational Overview Presentation and Non-Regulatory Docket

EPA has recorded an informational overview presentation covering the initial area designations process for the 2024 Revised National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for PM2.5. The recording can be found at the following link: https://youtu.be/jMIG0Gdocmo?si=oZXZIuQtzZnILrmu.

Since promulgation of the 2024 Revised Annual PM2.5 NAAQS, EPA has provided information about implementation next steps on its website. This video presentation is intended to supplement that information with a focus on information that may be of particular interest to communities with environmental justice concerns and Tribes.

This video presentation also provides information regarding the non-regulatory docket we have opened as an opportunity for the public to provide feedback on the outreach process states might undertake in developing the recommendations they submit to the EPA, as well as outreach that the EPA might undertake associated with issuing final designations.

EPA is accepting comments to the non-regulatory docket through January 3, 2025. Comments received after this date will be viewed as late and EPA may be unable to consider such comments. Please provide comments directly to EPA's non-regulatory docket:
