EPA Holds Virtual Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee Meeting

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a virtual public meeting of the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC) on May 31-June 1, 2023. The PPDC provides feedback to EPA on pesticide regulatory, policy and program issues and includes representatives from environmental groups, pesticide manufacturers, trade associations, academia, and federal and state agencies.

Topics for the upcoming meeting will include:

  • A review of the topics raised for discussion at the last meeting in May 2022.
  • Updates from the workgroups, including the Emerging Agricultural Technologies Workgroup, Pesticide Resistance Management Workgroup, and Emerging Viral Pathogens Workgroup.
  • Discussion about the formation of a Pesticide Label Reform Workgroup.
  • Updates on the implementation of the Endangered Species Act Workplan.
  • Discussion of environmental justice activities in the Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP), including implementation of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act of 2022 (PRIA 5) and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • An overview of recent OPP activities and accomplishments, and updates on current program priorities.
