Summary

Clean Air Act grant funding is available in fiscal year 2025 for federally recognized Tribes and Tribal consortia within region 5. An estimated $1,100,000 - $1,500,000 million is available for region 5 Tribal project and program grants. EPA anticipates awarding 12-17 grants, ranging from approximately $40,000 to $140,000.

Additionally, State and Indoor Radon Grant (SIRG) funding under the Toxic Substances Control Act, Section 306 is also available in fiscal year 2025 for federally recognized Region 5 Tribes and Tribal consortia. Up to $220,000 is estimated to be available for region 5 Tribal SIRG programs and projects. EPA anticipates awarding SIRG grants ranging from $15,000 - $60,000, depending on how many Tribes apply and are approved for funding.

About Clean Air Act Tribal Grants and SIRG Funding

Sections 103 and 105 of the Clean Air Act allow EPA to provide grant support to tribes to help build tribal knowledge and increase Tribes' capacity to manage air quality issues.

Section 306 of the Toxic Substances Control Act allows EPA to provide grant support to Tribes to help develop and implement radon programs. The ultimate goal for the program is to measure, document and report the risk reduction being achieved through the proposed Tribal activities.
