    EPA works with tribes to protect, restore, and ensure that water on tribal lands is safe and sustainably managed. This includes drinking water and the aquatic ecosystems that sustain fish, plants, and wildlife as well as economic, recreational, and subsistence activities for tribes.

    On May 22, 2024, the Biden-Harris Administration and EPA announced the availability of over $225 million in funding to improve drinking water and wastewater infrastructure for American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages.
