Documents relating to EPA's issuance of a federal Underground Injection Control (UIC) Class I Non-hazardous Industrial Waste Disposal Well Permit to San Joaquin Refinery Company, Inc. (SJR), located in Bakersfield, CA. The permit authorizes SJR to continue operating one (1) active, existing well: WD-1, and potentially install one (1) proposed additional well: WD-2. The UIC Class I Permit authorizes injection of non-hazardous waste generated from the San Joaquin Refinery into the Santa Margarita Formation, at depths ranging between 4,020’ to 4,225’ below ground surface, over a ten (10) year period.

    Underground Injection Control (UIC) permit no. R9UIC-CA1-FY16-1 issued to San Joaquin Refining Company Limited is hereby modified to reflect changes in the well construction of WD-2. Specifically, the modification revises the approved perforated injection intervals of the well. Portions of Part II.B.6 of the Permit and figures of WD-2 in Appendix B are revised to incorporate the above changes.
