Ecosystem Tools & Resources

EPA researchers are developing a suite of tools, models, and other resource to help people better understand and protect ecosystems and ecosystem services.

Ecosystem-related Decision Support Tools, Models & Databases, and Educational Resources

EPA researchers have worked to provide a host of resources that communities, other agencies, and non-governmental organizations can easily access and use to make informed decisions and actions that involve or potentially impact ecosystems. Many provide insight on how to tap local ecosystems to sustain and enhance the benefits that local ecosystems provide to local communities.

Explore valuable data, information, and other resources for exploring and considering ecosystems.

EPA SMaRT Search

The EPA Science Models and Research Tools (SMaRT) Search is a searchable inventory of freely available models, tools, and databases from EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). To search for ecosystem related products, simply type “ecosystem” into the search bar.
