Diversity and Inclusion in EPA's Criminal Investigation Division

At EPA’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), we believe diversity and inclusion are integral to building a collaborative, robust, high-performing, and effective workforce. CID values diversity beyond contexts of race and gender. We highly regard the diverse perspectives, experiences, creative problem-solving skills, and the broad range of skill sets and talents its Special Agents possess to address some of the most pressing environmental cases. By encouraging diversity and inclusion, ID increases its performance and communication with the citizens we engage with.
CID Special Agents come from backgrounds that include, but are not limited to, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), law enforcement, military, law, business, Peace Corps and liberal arts. CID strongly encourages individuals of various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to apply and become a Special Agent.
We take the initiative to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace and create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected for their contributions to the mission. As such, CID employees are encouraged to participate in programs that support workplace diversity and inclusion, such as affinity groups and Special Emphasis Programs. These programs are created to ensure employees have a voice and the opportunity to learn about workplace diversity and inclusion, as well as to enrich employees in their professional and personal development. Through these programs and open thoughtful conversations, CID continues to develop trust in the workplace and maintain a culture of fairness and respect.
