Aquaculture

Aquaculture is the culture, or husbandry, of marine or freshwater plants or animals. Aquaculture is undertaken in both freshwater and marine systems in a variety of ways, including in:

• raceways or flow-through systems,
• ponds,
• recirculating systems,
• floating or submersible net pens or cages, and
• bag, rack, suspended or longline culture.
