Yvonne W. Johnson

Yvonne W. Johnson is the Special Assistant to the Director of the Air Quality Policy Division in the EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards. She is an environmental protection specialist with over 27 years of experience in both the air toxics and criteria pollutant programs. Currently, her primary focus is on implementation of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

Her experience includes team lead for the Urban Air Toxics Strategy and the National Air Toxics Report to Congress. She was the national program lead for the Sustainable Skylines Initiative for communities and the Seventh Generation Sustainability Initiative for Native American Indian tribes to address multi-media environmental issues using regulatory and non-regulatory tools while also working within communities to establish partnerships with local businesses and organizations. In addition to her community work, she has extensive experience working with Native American tribes. She is the previous EPA/RTP Special Emphasis Program Manager for Native American Tribes and is a member of the OAQPS Tribal Team. 

Yvonne has degrees in Marketing/Business Management from the University of NC at Wilmington, Public Administration from NC State University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Campbell University. She and her family reside on a farm in Harnett County. Yvonne enjoys working with all groups of people, especially school-age children.

  • Travel is limited to approximately 50 miles from Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) area. All travel is up to the discretion of the speaker.
  • There is no charge for a speaker.
  • Submit requests at least 4 weeks in advance.
  • Requests limited to two speakers per event.
