January 2025

  • January 15, 2025: The Automotive Trends Quiz -- a dynamic, fun quiz consisting of 8 questions covering the light duty fleet over the past 50 years.
  • January 7, 2025: EPA grants waiver for California’s Commercial Harbor Craft amendments.
  • January 3, 2025: EPA grants waiver for California’s Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) amendments and In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleet amendments.

December 2024

  • December 20, 2024: EPA announces a final rule that makes revisions, updates, and corrections to its streamlined fuel quality regulations. This action does not change the stringency of any existing fuel quality standard.
  • December 20, 2024: EPA releases three fact sheets on travel efficiency strategies and an information sheet on climate planning for the transportation sector.
  • December 19, 2024: EPA grants waiver for California’s Small Off-Road Engines (SORE) amendments.
  • December 18, 2024: EPA grants waiver for California’s Advanced Clean Cars II regulations and Omnibus Low NOx regulations.
  • December 11, 2024: EPA announces 70 tentatively selected applications to receive a total of approximately $735 million in Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program funds under the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • December 5, 2024: EPA announces a proposed rule to partially waive the 2024 cellulosic biofuel volume requirement and extend the 2024 compliance deadline.
  • December 4, 2024: EPA releases the report: Quantifying and Characterizing Near-Port Populations in the Conterminous United States.

November 2024

  • November 25, 2024: EPA releases its 50th annual (the 2024) Automotive Trends Report.
  • November 21, 2024: EPA releases the fifth version of MOtor Vehicle Emission Simulator. MOVES5 is a state-of-the-science emission modeling system for estimating emissions from on-road vehicles and other categories of nonroad equipment.

October 2024

  • October 29, 2024: EPA announces 55 selected applications for nearly $3 billion in Clean Ports Program grants funded through the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • October 17, 2024: EPA announces $125M to upgrade older diesel engines to cleaner and zero-emission solutions.
